A large Victorian corner street pub in the old shoemaking district. The pub is laid out in an L shape with the bar in the same format. Car parking to the rear is limited, and is shared with nearby businesses. There is normally live music on a Saturday night. The pub was built in 1870 and has been continuously trading since as the crown and anchor and in the past was home to the Wild Flower Society. Food is served on an adhoc basis mainly for sporting events.
