Fully refurbished in 2011, this Victorian canal-side inn has been traditionally restored. Tastefully redecorated with etched windows and old black and white photos depicting Nottingham scenes and people. The seating is a mixture, from high stools to comfy settees. A further room behind the bar has patio doors leading to the large, partially covered patio, with a barbecue/stage area. A further lounge area is to the other side of the bar, and completes a full circle.
Cask beers are Draught Bass and Fuller's London Pride plus a range of changing beers from various micros, including Black Iris, Brew York and Magpie (Navigation New Dawn brewed by Magpie was recently offered).
Great Northern Inns operate a loyalty card whereby you collect points to be redeemed against purchases of food and drink.
The Navigation brewery used to be located behind the pub housed in former stables for canal boat horses but the brewery closed late 2023. Most of that area has been re-developed for the Big Shed, which features the biggest outdoor TV screen in the Midlands, and dedicated bars offering cask ale, draught beers and food.
