Former Oakwell Brewery pub, which closed in June 2013, but now independently owned. The owner had been in the trade for many years and was approaching 80 when she purchased the pub, renaming it from the Lamp to reflect her previous tenancy at the nearby Castle, also now renamed. Extensively refurbished and re-opened in September 2015. Rear conservatory makes the most of any sunshine and can double as a meeting room. A genuine traditional back street local, complete with its own caves. Pool table in rear bar. Recently re-opened following closure in 2024 due to the passing away of legendary landlady Judith. Up to four beers will be available, usually two, from Nottingham, but hope to get guests in. Food offerings will start from Sunday 16th. Prices are on offer until end of Feb.
