Built in 1957 as an hotel, this is the only Smith owned pub in the local area. Rooms consist of a main lounge and a public bar with a snug off the lounge with a real fire. The former dining room was converted to an overflow lounge and function room in the 80’s, whilst the fireplace in the lounge was removed in order to provide extra seating. The deep-windowed bays give natural light and there is around-the-wall fitted seating. Sensitive refurbishment carried out in 2018. Very much a community pub, the trophy cabinet is well filled.
