See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

An old pub, set back from the main road, converted in the 1860s from two cottages. Consisting of one large elongated U-shaped room with a games section to one end, a dining area at the other end, separate in the middle by an area suitable for sitting and having a drink. The building to the rear, which houses the skittles long alley, is on Oadby & Wigston Borough Councils Schedule of Significant Local Buildings, defined as buildings of local or architectural interest. Its origins were as a purpose built Framework Knitters Shed, at a time in the 18th century, when Wigston became a centre for this occupation. The long rows of windows to maximise available light are, in the main now bricked up, but it is clear to define where they were. Outside is a large paved courtyard furnished with picnic tables.
