Formerly the Bakers Arms. Ex Nottingham Brewery, then Tennants of Sheffield, then Whitbread. This small pub was built during the 19th century and was a community pub serving the inhabitants of the terraced houses that clustered around it. The second half of the 20th century saw both the community and their houses vanish, culminating in the pub becoming abandoned and derelict by the late 1990s. The premises were given a new lease of life and a new name opening in 2000 as The Musician; then in 2004, the building underwent a major expansion. The venue is said now, by some, to be the Midlands premier independent music venue with live music at least six nights a week. Doors open at 8pm and the music events start at around 8.30pm.
