Located close to the River Trent and Sawley Marina, this pub dates back to the 18th century. It is a two-roomed premises served from a central bar, with both rooms warmed by real fires in the colder months. There is usually background music. Community events include a monthly farmers market and a summer beer festival.

Outside is a large, attractive beer garden; occasional outdoor live music events are held there during the summer. The wood-fired pizza oven housed in the beer garden is in operation most Fridays and weekends from May to October. There is a loyalty card in operation on certain days. 5 changing beers sourced regionally & nationally.
