See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Originally an 18th century coaching inn, this large pub has been developed into a pub/restaurant. It has retained some original features and has been sympathetically developed. Close to Sawley Marina, the River Trent is only short walk away and the historic Sawley Parish Church is across the road. The small bar area has been extended and now provides a separate broom to drink. It sells beers from the Greene King stables. It runs a annual beer festival during the August Bank Holiday which is very popular, offering a wide range of beers, music and good food. The restaurant can get busy and is family orientated.
