Closed due to Covid lockdown in 2020, the pub did not reopen following relaxation of lockdown rules, but seemed destined to remain closed following the death of popular landlady, Pauline Harris. However, an extensive refurbishment in 2026 saw the pub finally reopen in August 2026. The outside appears unaltered from its heyday with a glorious display of hanging baskets in summer, but inside, the pub is now much more open plan with the former central bar relocated to the side. It is hoped that the strong community feel of the old pub will remain. Two handpulls are on the bar. The pub is very dog friendly!
