Recently acquired and refurbished by Meg Hartman and Patrick Hopkins in April 2025. Located in the Shambles area off the main market place and reputed to be the town's oldest pub documented as an inn from 1722. Consists of two buildings of differing period and character; the older top bar dating to the sixteenth century. The two areas each have a separate entrance but served by one central bar. Serves up to Eight Cask and Six Keg Lines spread across both sides of the bar. Check the blackboards for beer details. Regular Tap takeovers.
