The former New Inn is now open as The Palfrey which was previously located off Sadler Gate in Derby and well known for it's food quality. Completely refurbished inside and out late 2021 with a modern take of industrial style featuring a stone slab floor and brass top bar. Located on the main A6 Belper to Derby road, to the north side of the village it has great views over the Chevin. Predominately catering for diners upstairs but has a separate downstairs bar for drinkers known as Arches Bar. Two varying cask ales are from Dancing Duck.

Arches Bar is open Friday to Sunday at the same time as the main bar in the restaurant. It is situated in a former stable and has room for about a dozen people seated, with extra outdoor tables on a terrace. Only keg beer is served but cask ale can be fetched by staff from the main bar.
