This pub on the main Ashbourne Road into Derby has a distinctive split facade of stone to the ground floor and black and white timber to the upper floor where some Ansells signage still exists. Although the pub furnishings have been updated, some original features have been kept, including a separate bar and lounge. The pub has strong community connections with its pool and darts teams. A paved rear patio leads to the pub's car park and excellent function room with own bar and toilets which is now known as 'Hideaway'.
