A Marston's pub dating back to about 1870, situated half way up a very steep hill not far from the Market Place and with a good view of Belper from the outside terrace. Under new ownership in 2023 and has become especially popular on Cask Ale Tuesdays with all cask ales at reduced prices. Pizza or pie meals are available every day and also ham or cheese filled cobs at most times.
