The Geese and Fountain is a traditional village inn easily found on the A607 in Croxton Kerrial, offering a wide selection of local food and drink, a quiet and welcoming atmosphere, and accommodation. There is no juke box or fruit machine, but regular live music and a monthly folk club supplement the hum of conversation. Dogs, children, cyclists and walkers are all very welcome. There are no permanent beers, but six local breweries always feature:- Oldershaws' Belvoir, Brewsters, Oakham Ales, Grainstore and Nobby's, together with a number of guest beers from other local microbreweries. There are 5 hand pumps. Beer can also be purchased in 1/3 pint. The Geese and Fountain also offers locally brewed lagers, three kegs of local craft beer and a number of local traditional ciders. There are occasional beer and cider mini-festivals throughout the year. There is a wide selection of bottled and canned beer, a fully organic wine list, and food made fresh from local ingredients including geese, chickens and turkeys farmed in the village of Croxton Kerrial itself. Having re-opened after a long closure in 2016, the pub offers seven en suite B&B rooms. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served every day. Traditional pub games including darts and cribbage always available, and the pub's "village library" opened in early 2018. A large beer garden provides outstanding views over some fantastic countryside. Branch Pub of the Year 2018 and 2019. Local Branch Cider POTY 2022.
